Hair is composed of muscular structural protein known as keratin. This is the similar kind of protein that creates up the nails and on the outside layer of skin. The Hair Growth Cycle

Hair follicles produce in repeated cycles. One cycle can be busted down into three phases.

Anagen - Growth Phase : Just about 85% of all hairs are in the rising phase at any one time. The Anagen phase or increase phase can differ from two to six years.

Catagen - Transitional phase : At the end of the Anagen phase the hairs go through into a Catagen phase which lasts with reference to one or two weeks, during the Catagen phase the hair follicle shrinks to concerning 1/6 of the normal length.

Telogen - Resting Phase : The resting part pursues the catagen phase and usually lasts about 5-6 weeks. During this time the hair does not cultivate but stays attached to the follicle even as the dermal papilla stays in a resting phase below. At the conclusion of the Telogen phase the hair follicle re-enters the Anagen segment. The dermal papilla and the bottom of the follicle join mutually again and a new hair begins to form.
